Your password data is not transmitted in any form to any servers except to your own SkyDrive folder if you choose to backup to SkyDrive. The SkyDrive connection is always encrypted. If you use Microsoft account to login to multiple Windows machines, your data will be synced across those machines. This also happens thru secure connection.
